BharatBenz 1824 Chassis

The BharatBenz 1824 Chassis is a 13.2 m front-engine coach chassis with an 18,500 kg GVW, designed for body builders making long-distance sleeper and seater coaches. It uses the 7.2-litre six-cylinder OM926 BS-VI diesel producing 180 kW and 850 Nm, paired with the G85 overdrive 6-speed synchromesh gearbox.

On a 6850 mm wheelbase it has air suspension front and rear, dual-circuit full air S-cam brakes, an IF 7.0 front and IR440 rear axle, 239 mm ground clearance, tubeless 295/80 R22.5 radials and a 380-litre fuel tank. The driver gets tilting power steering and an adjustable seat.
